Scientist as Artist

Lab Artistry Revealed

An exhibition of 20 extraordinary images created by the scientists at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging

Scientist as Artist

Each of the uncommon scientific images presented in this remarkable exhibition tells a detailed story of research, experimentation, biological mechanisms, and artistry. Sixty-five scientists submitted images for consideration. A jury selected 20 that best revealed lab artistry. Displayed in the Buck’s soaring, light-filled atrium, which was designed by the renowned architect I.M. Pei, the large-scale pictures bring to life inspiring research findings from the Institute’s labs. All of the images are connected to our mission to extend healthspan through research and education.

The exhibit can be viewed during regular tours scheduled on Thursday mornings (reservation required). Call 415-209-2245 to reserve your spot.
